Several hundred people came to downtown Silsbee's pavilion for the Hardin County Texas Auction Trunk Sale on Saturday morning. Organizers said the event drew between 30 and 40 vendors, not including downtown merchants who moved some of their wares to the sidewalks.
Hardin Co. will dip into reserves for annex construction

Work toward building a new Kountze annex will be at a relative standstill for the next 30 to 60 days as the county awaits a response from the U.S. Department of Agriculture on a nearly $2 million rural development grant application it submitted Monday. In December, the county hired the LaBiche Architectural Group to design a new annex building, conduct soil sampling and survey land for $25,000.
